If you want to start driving high-quality traffic to your website and find keywords with realistic search volumes, you need to seek out keywords with more search phrases, or “long-tail” keywords, over short ones. If you uncover duplicate content, check the organic traffic for each of your product page variations in Google Analytics. Utilise existing relationships with suppliers, partners and even customers to get links to your website. For example, if you sell a supplier’s products see if they have a section on their website that lists places to buy their products or distributors and ask if you can be added to this list. Other sources of links are industry specific directories where it makes sense for your business to have a listing. Once visitors are on your site, an important goal is to keep them on your site. You don’t want your visitors immediately bouncing back to Google once they have read something on your site.

When launching a new website that replaces a previous version, use 301 Redirects to tell the search engines that your pages have moved. Doing so will retain your hard-earned Google Page Rank and your search engine positioning should stay more or less intact. If you do not use 301 Redirects when launching a new/replacement site, search engines will still have your old pages contained in their index, and both search engines and visitors seeking out your content will encounter broken pages when they try to visit your site. This will result in lots of 404 Page Not Found errors. When this happens, your search engine rankings will most likely drop. There are many theories,
some backed by data, that show Google uses user metrics such as bounce rate, click through rate, time on site, etc. when determining the relevancy of a piece of content to the searcher’s query. When sites in your network pick up your announcement and link to your website, it increases your reputation and makes it more likely search engines will visit. The newest result isn’t always best – for less newsworthy topics, an in-depth and authoritative result that’s been around longer may outrank newer, thinner content.

Paying people to link to your site won’t pay off in the long run
When approaching other webmasters to link to your site; it's really important to “suggest” suitable text for them to use; i.e link code that will have the most suitable link text for your site. If you have two
domain versions of your website, i.ewww.example.comand example.com and both www and non-www URLs are serving the same content (i.e the same homepage), then you might face problems regarding the duplicity of data. To avoid such situations, you must first choose the preferred domain (canonical), which is to be seen and then 301 redirects all the other non-canonical to the preferred domain. Having more pages that are optimized for different keywords gives you increased opportunity for traffic. It doesn't necessarily mean more traffic, though, since it depends on how popular and how competitive those new keywords are. But all too often, when we want to improve our site SEO, we fall prey to “quick-fixes”, just as we do when we’re enticed by fad diets.
